6 months!

While we were in Port Aransas for the July 4th holiday our boy turned 6 months old! We just cannot believe that half a year has passed already. Never in my life has six months flown bye so fast. I love, love, love this stage! Here's what Jake's been up to at six months:

-happiest, easiest baby I've ever seen- most people tell us this about him. easy to distract, easy to entertain, easy to care for. just easy going! love it!

-big! he doesn't have his six month appt until friday, but everyone says he's just huge! he's heavy and chubby and long and i love it!

-busy! he loves to be busy. whether it's talking to people, playing, scooting, rolling around the living room, etc he loves to be on the move!

-i can't turn my head for a second! the boy rolls over while i change his diaper, scoots literally across the living room, rolls way off of his playmat, pulls up on the bumper on his crib, climbs whoever is holding him like a rock wall, gets up on all fours while on the ground, etc. I think he's more ready to crawl than he is to sit up b/c to sit up you have to be still- and still he is not!

-what he is not yet is a master sitter. the boy has been sitting up on his own since May at around 4 months. in his 5 month pics he's sitting on his own. technically he sits on his own. he chooses not b/c he's going after everything and never sits still!

-he loves attention! he gets compliments and comments everywhere he goes! he smiles at people and usually talks back to them. they are always telling me (or him) how cute he is, how pretty his eyes are, how big and tall he is for his age, how cute his outifits are, etc. He loves it!

-he went to the beach and sat in the sand for the first time on July 3. His 6 month bday!

-he still loves his oatmeal, fruits, veggies, swinging, excersaucer, being held, being rocked, and his bottles!

-something he's started lately is reaching. reaching for people, not just me. i wanted a friendly baby who'd be happy around anyone and everyone. i got it! he does reach for me daily and it is truly my favorite and the highlight of my day!

What did we ever do without him? If my other kids are going to be half as sweet as he is, I may want 5 more. He's the happiest, easiest, cutest little man and we could not be any prouder of our little Jakey!
