Portland Trip

This Friday we left for Portland to go visit Dale, Danette, and Nico. We got there on Friday around lunch time and we went to Panera, and then to their apartment and then onto some nearby trails at a park in Portland. That night we ate some excellent Italian food for dinner.

Here are some pictures from the trails we walked...

Saturday (Danette's Birthday!) we woke up and got coffee and breakfast and then made the drive out to Silver Falls State Park. The hike was hard work, and we only saw 2 of the 10 waterfalls that were at the park. Nearby there was a cute little town called Silverton that had little bakeries and shops and such. After we hiked we hadn't eaten since breakfast so we headed back to Beaverton to grab some lunch/dinner at Red Lobster. After that we headed back to the apartment to rest and let Nico stretch out and play. As you can see, it was breathtaking and beautiful and we had a blast.
South Falls 177 feet- You could hike all the way down and walk behind the waterfall...the climb up was steep!!

At the lodge getting hot chocolate between hikes...isn't he a cutie?

The next pictures were taken along the trail going to the North Falls

The North Falls 136 feet (the trail actually goes behind it up into a cave)

What a big baby boy :)
Nico sleeping on the way to the airport after a Sunday breakfast at Shari's...Yum!!!

Overall we had a wonderful trip. We loved finally meeting Nicolai (he's already 3 mos old and 17lbs!!!!) and seeing what their new life is like in Portland. Portland is a beautiful city and Dale and Danette were great hosts, so we're looking forward to future trips!!

Valentine's, Birthdays & Portland

Just a quick update! We have had a good weekend, but it was too short! This will be a busy, but short week for us.

First of all, this is the month of birthdays for several of my bestest friends, it seems! So, Tuesday night the girls are headed to the Black Walnut to celebrate Christina, Steph, and Rachel's birthdays. Also this month are Danette and Amanda's birthdays! Goodness! Happy Birthday girls!!!
Also, as mentioned before, this is a short week for Jeremy and I as we are headed up to Portland to visit Dale and Danette and baby Nicolai (Nico). We're very excited to catch up (in person) and meet little Nico.

Lastly, Valentine's day is Thursday. I am a sucker for cute, pointless holidays. Jeremy and I hardly celebrate V-day, but I sure do love to decorate for it! (As mentioned in 100 things about me...I love hearts, too!!) I always love a holiday that brings me flowers from Jeremy...well, sometimes it does, atleast :). So...in honor of Valentine's Day I have decided to post a few of my fav valentine's decorations.

We'll be sure to update with pics from our trip when we return. I am also excited to have next Monday off, as our company so generously gives us President's Day off!!!

Cute Valentine's towels my Gran gave me :)

Heart shaped candles I found last year

Chips n dip heart plate

Red lights and candles and heart candy dish on buffet (prettier @ night)

Cute heart hand towel from Jess (she knows me well!)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Must See Movies!!

Well, I have seen 2 really cute movies lately, so I thought I'd let everyone know. A few weeks ago we had a girls night and went to the Goose's Acre and saw 27 dresses. It was adorable and laugh out loud funny. I plan on buying it when it comes out on DVD so Jeremy can watch it with me! :)

Saturday night I was looking to relax before hosting a Superbowl party on Sunday and after a long day of antique shopping with my mom, grandmother, and aunt. So, Jeremy and I headed to the Woodlands to see this movie. I had seen that it got great reviews. It was really good...and funny. We laughed out loud several times.

I totally recommend both of them!!!!

And while we're on the subject, I've just ordered our 3rd season of 24 from http://www.amazon.com/. We are HOOKED on this show. I think we watch an episode or two EVERY night before bed, no matter what time it is! :)
