Eviction Notice...

As you all can see Jake is still not here and we are getting further past his due date every day.

So, he has been given an official eviction notice. He's getting kicked out on this coming Saturday, January 3rd if he doesn't come before then on his own. I will be 41 weeks, 2 days. I'm still really hoping that he does come on his own, but if he doesn't it is good to know that there is a back up plan in place and that we really will meet him soon! Please keep us in your prayers this week as we will for sure be entering the world of parenting and finally meeting our sweet baby boy.

This is apparently a very difficult week to schedule an induction. The nurse tried to schedule me for Tues, then Wed, then Thurs and finally on Saturday. I was hoping for tomorrow or Wed, since he was supposed to be here by Christmas I would atleast have liked to have him by New Year's. I took his first Christmas outfit back to Janie and Jack today- it was kinda sad but I exchanged it for 2 very cute things!

Well, just wanted to update you all, and hope that you enjoyed a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones this year...just as we were able to! :)

Happy New Year's!!

Christmas Eve 2008!

Jeremy and me...he worked Christmas Eve and was having trouble keeping his eyes open!

Kaleb, our nephew, modeling one of the shirts we got him. I love it on him!

The Worley kids

Well, here it is, just after Midnight on Christmas Eve night/Christmas Day morning. We just had a wonderful evening with the Worley side of the family. Still no Jake, though! He missed out on his presents and stocking! He's a stubborn little one and I really wished he'd be our Christmas present but he's running out of time.

Just thought I'd let you all know...NO BABY. :) And of course thought I'd post a few pics of our evening before I head off to bed.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!!! :)

No News Is...Bad News

I had my 40 week appointment today and still no change (which is why I didn't call everyone I was supposed to with my 'news' after my appt today...sorry!). Since the baby's head is SO low and I am almost fully effaced, the doctor hadn't expected the station or effacement to change, however, he'd hoped that I would be dilated a little more than I was. I'm still around a 1.

I am ok with no baby this week, but by next week I had really hoped to have a plan for then. He basically said I need to come back next Monday (40wks 4days) and we'll talk then. I was a little disappointed because you can schedule an induction a week ahead of time at our hospital and so I'm thinking by next Monday we might not get scheduled for next week. He mentioned inductions are hard to schedule around the holidays and that they won't schedule them on Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, etc.

So, our prayer is that he comes on his own asap, as in before next Monday or before an induction is needed. But, as he has measured two weeks big this entire time and the dr estimated him to be between 7.5 and 8lbs a week ago (38.5wks) I am not really wanting him to stay in me after New Year's (41 wks). Well, because of the holidays the doctor said he will see what he can do next week, but no promises that we'll have him by New Year's unless he does come on his own. Yikes! Basically I'm hoping that the dr was off on his weight estimate and that Jake was smaller than that or that he comes very, very soon before he gets more chub on him! :-)

Daddy had a talk with little Jake tonight and told him how much we love him and how we're ready to meet him, hold him, and take care of him. I hope he gets his act together and listens. :) I'm so ready and wanting to experience the natural, exciting process of going into labor on my own!

Please continue to pray for a healthy boy for us!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Love,
Jeremy and Amanda

39 Weeks and Counting!

Just wanted to update you all...even though there's no real update! ;-)

39 week belly picture (boy are these getting hard to look at LOL!)

I am still feeling wonderful! Truly I am. I have not yet experienced the third trimester misery that some describe and I am so thankful for that. I have LOVED being pregnant and am actually a little sad that it is pretty much over and hope that it is in our future again in the next few years!
At my doctor appointment on Monday I was not much further than last week. I am dilated around a one, his head is at -2 station, and I am 90% effaced. The doctor said all I need is a contraction...my body is ready! Last Monday (5 days ago) the doctor estimated Jake to weigh between 7.5-8lbs. Wow! He is not a small one. That is one of my only reasons I want him OUT! I'm hoping he makes his appearance on his own, otherwise we may be looking at induction around 41 weeks (the week after Christmas). I have another appointment this coming Monday, the 22nd. I will try to update then.
I have been getting many frequent...hey..how are you feeling type phone calls. It cracks me up! I know why you're calling! Even my own husband calls me several times a day asking if I feel 'anything.'

If it makes you guys feel any better I will have someone update my blog, or if I am feeling up to it....I will do it! ;-) You will know when Jake's on his way...promise! :)
In the meantime, I really appreciate all of the calls, concern, comments, prayers and encouragement. This is such an exciting time and I feel very blessed to be experiencing it. It has been one of the most unique and special experiences of my life- carrying a tiny baby for nine months (or shall I say 10...why is pregnancy considered only 9?). There is no denying this whole process is truly a miracle and a gift from God.

Girls Night....or Surprise Shower!!

Thursday night we had a surprise shower disguised as a girls night out for Jess and Nikki (both due very early next year and having the opposite sex of their first born). It was so fun! We had a yummy dinner in the party room at La Madeline's along with dessert and opening gifts. They were surprised and the night was very much a success. I'm so glad Jake didn't come before I got to have a night out with my friends! :)

Everyone!

Both Jess and Nikki are having their second child, but they're both having the opposite sex of what their first child is. Blue balloons this time for Jess and Pink for Nikki!

Opening gifts!

All of the preggos in order! Me (Christmas Day), Nikki (Jan), Jess (Feb), Jenn (June), Steph (June), Kimberly (July), Rachel (August)

Dessert!

I hate when I delete my little "Amanda" signature, but I'm too lazy to retrieve it! :-)
Have a great week!!!

Baby Jake 'News'

Well, I had my weekly Dr appt today and got a better idea of how Jake is doing in there and how ready he is to come out here!
The Dr was surprised at how low his head was, that I was dilated to about a 1, and that I'm effacing quite well, too! All 2.5 weeks early and all for a first baby. He said all of these conditions are favorable for labor to begin. He said that it could be weeks but at the same time would not be surprised if it was tomorrow. That really put it into perspective, whether it ends up being a couple weeks or tomorrow. It's getting SO close!
Jeremy's reaction was priceless. I wish I would've recorded our conversation! I call him (very calmly) and say, "We've got progress. I'm dilated to 1 and mostly effaced and the baby's head is at -2 station (I think)". I then quickly hear, "What?!?! Oh my gosh! We've got to pack our bags! I can't believe it. I'm in shock. This is so surreal!"
Haha! I just laughed. When he got home he told me that his stomach was just in knots. Hehe. He cracks me up! I've never seen him this nervous or excited.
But you'd better believe his bag is packed. He's got a couple changes of clothes, his Nintendo ds, his ipod, the camera bag out and ready and he put the car seat in the trailblazer tonight. Haha! The poor guy is even more ready than me or Jake! I think it's funny but also cute that he just cannot wait to meet his baby boy! He's been talking about it for months.
I am not really even ready. I am not miserable in the least and am in no hurry- other than Jake's b-day being so close to Christmas. The dr mentioned that my body is ready enough to be "induceable." Not now, of course, but in a week or two if I choose to. But, I said let's just play it by ear...I'm not ready to think about that yet. So, I ask Jeremy, "If you could have your choice when would you have him come: tomorrow, this weekend, next week, Christmas....?" And he quickly answers, "Tomorrow." I said, "Seriously, over 2 wks early?" And quickly got a yeah!

We'll keep y'all posted. And please keep us in your prayers over the next couple of weeks, especially Jeremy, hehe!
