More cuteness...

Story #1:

So tonight we ran out as a family to grab a prescription from Target. On our way home we are at the light closest to our house and a motorcyle pulls up next to us. Jake was pointing out his helmet and called it a hat. I said, "That's a helmet, you know what that is. It's a hat that protects our heads when we ride bikes or play sports."
Soo....fast forward five minutes later- we're home and I'm sorting Jake's laundry. He "pulls up" next to me on his little step 2 motorcycle and says, "Helmet, pease?"
It was so cute he immediately ran in the door, found his motorcycle and asked for a helmet. I love how they soak up everything and apply it at this phase!

*Too bad Mommy's too lazy to take a pic (and upload it) of her cute, clean boy wearing his camo pj's and riding around on his bike with a pretend helmet (hat). We really need to find a dress-up helmet for this boy.

*Story #2:
The same night we were walking through target and Jake started acting a little crazy...whining for Mommy and such. So, I said, "Jake - be quiet, you're acting like a nutcase!" I didn't think anything of it. I had been on the phone with insurance and the pharmacy for hours and was just over the whole thing. We paid for the prescription and headed for the exit. As we were walking out, Jake starts loudly saying, "Nutcase! Nutcase! Nutcase!" Too bad his listening and speaking are getting so accurate, because it's a little embarrassing the things he repeats -- and says perfectly clear. All Jeremy and I could do was laugh!

*Story #3:
The other day Jake was singing his abc's for his Daddy. He got through the first several letters and then sang, "now I know my abc's next time won't you too sing me!" LOL

*Story #4:
When Jake counts to ten, you can understand all of the numbers, but when he get to seven he always says, "fedent" and it's my favorite "word" that he says, it's just so cute. We should probably correct him but I really don't want to!! Hopefully we'll get a video posted soon before he starts saying it correctly.

all boy :)

talking on the phone- usually it's Papaw or Jax and they talk for several minutes :)

firing up his grill from Noah and Tate-- he loves that thing! Especially the "mutsard and ketchup!"

He's still my baby when he's sleeping. So breathtaking!

And yet, so big boy!!

We call this "Worley Wipeout" haha. We all watch wipeout as a family, and Jake entertains us with his wipeouts off of his toy bin, the couch, the ottoman and just throwing himself on the ground in general. I think we could invite friends and charge a ticket price! ;)

See what I mean?!? He is TOTALLY boy.

Most of the time. :) You gotta also be in touch w/your sensitive side!

Several times a day he takes my hand and leads Mommy to Daddy's closet. "Daddy's hat, pease!"

This little man just makes us smile! He loves tackling, wipeouts, cars, trucks, bikes, airplanes, the outdoors, hats, girls, sleep, talking on the phone, and his mama's ruffled scarf. Just thought I had to post some of his daily antics. :)

Santa Pics...that will make ya laugh!!

You really need to work your way from the bottom up on this post. The top one is after Mommy came to the rescue. The actual sequence of the pictures is backwards.
I've totally already tortured my child two times this season by making him sit on Santa's lap. I already knew he'd cry, so last week when we went with Jake's friends Nico, Yuri, Kinley and Jax to the library for Santa story time I made Jakey sit on Santa's lap last--so we wouldn't scare any of the other kids with his reaction.
I LOVE these pics, I can't help it! I think they are flat out hilarious and they so make me SMILE!

attempted escape, squirming out of Santa's arms

WHY oh why didn't I use these for our Christmas cards this year?!? They totally would've gone great with a letter (that will not get sent out) about our year of tv's that die, computers that your injured son shatter, dog surgeries, longing for a baby#2 and of course we cannot forget Mommy's brain surgery!!!! =)
Does anyone really want a Christmas card w/a screaming kid and a totally debbie downer story of the major happenings in our family? ;)
No worries- I'm not complaing. I'm thankful that it's still all fresh in our memory and we can just laugh about it already!!
Bring on 2011...we've NEVER been soo excited for New Year's!
Hope this post put a SMILE on YOUR face like it did mine!!

Oh, Jakey-- you crack us up!!

* Anytime the phone rings (even at other people's houses) Jake runs to the phone and says, "Papaw!!" Earlier this week it was a telemarketer and he cried when it wasn't Papaw and he didn't get to talk. Several times a week we call and bug Papaw when Jake has a "needing Papaw" meltdown. :)

* One night we were over at our good friends, The Lee's, hanging out and we could tell Jake was getting tired and he'd been having teething problems. He dug through his bag and found the infant tylenol and brought it to me holding it in his mouth. We all got a good laugh!

* We don't know if he's just stubborn or not very good with "G" sounds. He has said Papaw for months and flat out will not usually say Gammie or Granny. He will see his friends pictures on the computer or around the house and say them all (it's not like he doesn't know his grandmothers!), but will usually call my mom Baby or Be-bop! We all laugh but she doesn't want us encouraging him.

* I love watching any type of talk shows with Jakey in the room, because no matter what he's doing if the audience claps he will stop what he's doing and clap very enthusiastically!

* We will never tire of hearing, "mo, pease!" So, if he's in the 5th grade and that is how he pronouces "more, please" then it's only b/c his parents thought it was cute when he was a baby and decided not to correct him. ;)

* The other day Jeremy and I were having a conversation. I'm guessing Jake was tired of listening to us because he just blurted out, "yeah, yeah..." I really don't know where he got that but we were both cracking up!

* Lately I've been having to tell Jake to be careful a lot. He usually replies with, "don't fawwl".

* We read books pretty much at some point every day. One of Jake's faves is "Bunnies are for Kissing". There is a page where the Mommy bunny and Bunny are planting vegetables in their garden. On this particular page there are little carrots sticking up out of the ground. Jake points to them and says, "Wittle treeees!!" Hehe

* This morning as we walked out of Jake's room and into the front hallway and entry the sun was beaming in through the glass and window over the door so brightly. Jakey walks out squinting and says "It's hot outside, Mommy!" (actually today it's in the 50's)

*Last week we are relaxing in the living room after dinner and we hear Jake in our room being pretty quiet. All of a sudden we hear, "dangous, dangous, dangous!!" As we walk in to see what he's doing we see that he is plugging in and unplugging the vacuum cleaner. Yikes!

* On a similar note, he will tell himself "don touchhh, don touchhh!" when he touches something he's not supposed to. He will go up to his room and turn the switch on the back of his fan all while telling himself not to touch it.

* Recently while at the outlet mall he saw a couple of older toddler's/preschoolers in a stroller. I think that they were twins and they each had a paci in their mouth. Jake's in his stroller and starts pointing at them and saying, "Awwww baby!!! Babies, awww!"

* Every night after kissing Jakey goodnight I lay him down in his crib. We have this game where we kiss through the railing and he moves all around his crib and I have to catch him while his face is mashed into the cracks where I can kiss him. When we finish and I stand back up, he will say, "Mo, mo kiss Mommy!" It melts my heart almost every night, but the first time he did I just started laughing I thought it was so cute!

* Recently while I was at Canton, I got Jake a backpack so I could start carrying a normal purse again. The day after he got it, I got him out of the car first before I got out his backpack. He was so upset I left his big-boy backpack in the car that he immediately said, "No, pack-pack! pack-pack!!" He is normally pretty laid back and he was so yelling at me before I even had a chance to get it out. I thought it was so cute how fast he was attached to his "trac-tor pack-pack".

I know there are so many more cute stories, but I wanted to write a couple down so we could remember them in the future!

In a Nutshell

He loves driving his hotwheels/matchbox trucks on the furniture.

He was helping Mommy w/this little project for Gammie. =)

He loves dressing up in his "fiitruckk hat"! And don't forget the tractor!

He closed himself in Daddy's closet, and when he came out this is what he was wearing. Can't believe he could walk in Daddy's size 13's.

"Hewow!?"

his favorite food! with meatballs, of course!

This is the perfect glimpse of our baby boy at this age. He is happy, crazy, silly, funny, entertaining, sweet and affectionate. He loves talking on the phone and runs to the kitchen desk when the home phone rings. He points out every sliiiide, track-ttor, truckks, bus, bikkke and fietruck we see while in the car. He loves anything with wheels. He also loves to help me out, and even helped me put an uppercase living expression on a platter for my mom. =) He loves to ride things that are not ride-ons (aka the bus above). He is more fun every day. He knows so many of his friends names (even that aren't in his class/age group) and surprises us by saying them perfectly occasionally. He loves to talk, dance, climb, drive, hide, lock us out of our bathroom, and run laps around the living room. He will go to the playroom and play with all of his toys by himself for long periods of time. He still loves to eat and sleep and is such an easy baby! I think technically he will only be our baby for a couple more months before he turns 2, however, I will not stop calling him my baby at that time...he will always be my baby!
Speaking of growing up, we purchased a potty this week! He has been off and on telling me that he's "durtty!" (even once or twice when he was just wet) I think he's just trying to tell me when he's uncomfortable. We're going to try out the potty very soon!!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic Fall, too! =)

Boo!

Gran sent us home with this little Halloween ghost outfit that my cousin Luke wore when he was little. It was a size 3T and we couldn't keep the snaps closed. Everytime Jake moved he would unsnap a few more buttons. Our little guy still looked so adorable running around having fun in his ghost outfit that I had to share them and have them to look back on. The top two are my favorites! (PS- Jeremy thinks he looks more like a chef than a ghost w/that hat!)

We will hopefully have some Trunk or Treat pictures to share early next week!

We hope y'all have a Happy Halloween!!

Oreos are fun!

This afternoon we went and spent some time with my sister Courtney, as she is starting a new job this week. We'll miss having her home during the day to call and talk to or hang out with, but we're excited and proud she's starting her first "real" job this week.
Anyway, we hung out and ate lunch and after lunch she brought out the oreos. I knew they tasted good and all, but apparently they are actually fun! Jakey was cracking us up, showing us his black teeth, food, doing his mean face and squealing with happiness.
How will I ever be able to resist giving him future oreos with a face like this and a sweet voice asking, "tease, tease, tease, tease?" with a cookie already in each hand.

Priorities...

Our happy boy finishing up his meal

"please don't take away my drink. this meal is too good to be true!!"

mean face (he usually will only give you a mean face if he's happy and wants you to laugh at him)

just starting the meal (and, on a girly note- how did he get the perfect mix of mine and Jeremy's hair? I want his hair!! :)

Can you tell what is important to Jakey? I think if you look close you will notice that he is hugging his drink for the majority of our meal tonight. And, what a weird night to worry about his drink when we were having his favorite food- "Itza"!!
The bottom pic is of the very beginning of the meal--his pizza slice was almost whole and his drink cup full. Once he realized that there was chocolate milk ("choc-choc") in there he never let go...not for a second! :) Chocolate milk completely grosses me out, but Jeremy loves it! Guess he's Daddy's boy in that regard. Hey, atleast it was organic. :) We're not completely over-indulgent, neglectful loser parents in this house, afterall. And, if I need to further justify why I LOVE giving my baby chocolate milk; I will say that it's because it makes his bones strong (not because I absolutely adore watching him gulp it down and then take a huge breath and sigh when he's done). His Daddy loves all milk and has never broken a bone and let's just say that after Jake's ugly fall and huge scare last week, we'll take that excuse! Heck-maybe I'm just an enabler after all and should not give my baby "treat-overload" and the chocolate milk high that comes along with such a fabulously nutritious dinner!!
Back to meat and veggies and um...plain whole milk tomorrow. Sorry, buddy. :)

Priority verdict:

#1 - Chocolate Milk

#2 - Pizza

I just had to post these memories of our silly boy and fun dinner. They were too cute not to share and add to our family memory book! :)

Mean Face!!

Ok, so these are not the best pictures of this face. And, the video is wayyy more funny than this. But, since he's been doing this for weeks and weeks and these are some of the few pictures I have I needed to record them in our "family journal". It's even better when he wrinkles his forehead and really looks mad! But, once he starts cracking people up he just starts laughing so he doesn't look mean at all! =)

What a F-U-N stage!!

Can you guess what he's waving at?

He loves to "pet" sadie.

He notices... hears... sees... every last one

of these. Which is a lot. We live about two minutes from Hooks Airport. I'm not sure how many hundreds of planes he waves to on a daily basis. It's been really fun to watch his fascination with planes develop!

He loves to feed himself. Kinda messy. And don't even THINK about gettin' near that spoon once he's doing it on his own.

He's gonna kill me for this one day. I love it!! (he had a diaper rash (his very first one) - and this is one of the good things to come out of it. Cute bare baby buns running around our house each night after bathtime =)

Into everything... and I mean everything-

like flipping his push toys and getting stuck on them. He was screaming and had to be rescued! It's kinda funny looking back on it!

Ravioli for dinner. It was even in his ear.

I told you this stage is FUN! =)
We are having such a BLAST with our little guy!

Papaw lets me....

This is the very scene I came home to today after my doctor appointment. =) Can you tell that Jakey's Papaw will pretty much let him get away with... well, anything!
