8 Months (sniff sniff)

Although the first two pics turned out really cute, the third is a much more accurate snapshot into our little photo sessions. He is so nosey and so curious about everything he shouldn't have. :)

I can't believe our lil "Moose" is EIGHT MONTHS OLD. I really can't. The phrase "time flies when you're having fun" couldn't be more true. These are the best, best days of our lives. We couldn't have been blessed with a sweeter, cuter, more content baby.

Sweet Jakey, here's what you've been up to this month:

Crawlin' like a pro. You follow me around the house, wherever I go. At night when your Daddy or I run the bath water for you, you come crawlin' around the corner and give the sweetest grin when we make eye contact.
-You've started getting little scratches and bumps as you move about. It is so hard to watch! I know this is just the beginning but it makes me so sad when you hurt!
-You still LOVE being read to. Today we probably read 7 books in a row and you never lost interest.
-You are lovin' your paci, probably more than you ever have before. But, you are not dependent on it.
-You're pulling up on anything and everything. You love to pull up to a stand and let go of whatever you're holding onto. You're also beginning to stand on your own.
-You giggle and giggle when your Papaw "eats your tummy" and kisses your face. You come away with red marks from his whiskers but you LOVE it! He tries to talk to you when Mommy is on the phone with him, even if I don't have it on speaker. It's pretty entertaining! :)
-You constantly say "dada, dada, dada" when your Daddy gets home every evening
-We cuddle in the rocker in your room every day, and getting you up and putting you down "night night" are some of my very favorite times
-You continue to nap atleast 3 times per day, sleep in your stroller or carseat, and sleep all night every single night. We got so lucky with that!
-Your favorite things are the cell phone, the laptop cord, the remote for the tv, car keys, and my camera. You love my camera! In atleast half of the pictures I take you're hand is right in the lens!
-You're still a big boy! You're over the weight limit for your infant carrier and have a toddler seat on the way. You are in a size 4/5 diaper, 4 shoe, and mostly 12-18 month clothes. There are still some occasions where 9 month clothes fit you, and I love it when they do! You're still supposed to be little!
-You are sooo friendly! Today we were at a restaurant and you made eye contact with a lady that was looking at you. You smiled big at her and then buried your head into me. Then, you looked up and found her again, she was still looking at you and you buried your head again. You try to act shy and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen!
-You are so good, whether we're out and about or enjoying a relaxing or productive day at home- you make it so easy!
-You're a little daredevil. You love a good toss in the air, run in your stroller, anything that's got a good thrill to it. Yay!
-We spend our days playing, cuddling, giggling, tickling, talking, going to playdates, running errands, having photo shoots, playing peek-a-boo, reading books, and just enjoying our every moment together. You are perfect and we thank God everyday for you.

Mr. Mobile (and a few just cuz he's cute pics)

Jakey has been up to no good! He's into everything. What a change these past few weeks have been. Today, he left his room and followed me into the guest bathroom. I have a little shadow now! And I think it's pretty neat...but somewhat scary! He's gotten so quick lately... I have to watch him even more closely now. He's a mess! Here are a few pics of him getting around.

he's gettin' sooo strong! :)

he sure loves his swing! he crawled over to it, and decided he wanted in!

trying on his hat for next summer!

Soooo happy! He loved moving about freely. For a few weeks there he would move across the room, but it was a crawl, give up, scoot, crawl cycle and he'd get frustrated. Now it's pure happiness! :) Just look at that face!

He pulled his toy bucket over

The next two pics would definitely fall under..."Just cuz he's cute pics" :)

Well, just cause he and Kinley are way too cute! I think she likes 'em younger!

I LOVE it!!!

We love him so!

The Latest...

My favorite bright-eyed 7 month old!

I love him from this angle-it's how I see him when I'm holding him. His cheeks are perfect and his lips are so sweet!! Oh, yeah, and his long, blond eyelashes, too! :)

haha- never seen him do this look before...maybe he's confused as to why he's sporting a mohawk when Mommy normally dresses him sweet and babyish! (And usually doesn't favor anything even remotely this big-boy-ish :)

But Daddy wanted to give him the cool dude look!

My sweet boys. They're crazy about each other!

Check out his fat knee. It's so fat it looks swollen, LOL!

Big boy standing with his push toy

Our lil drool-face :) But he's precious anyway!

This update is mainly for Jake's Daddy, he's been begging me to update the blog so he can take a picture off of it to update his desktop background at work. :) He loves seeing his Jakey while he's away during the day.
Our Jakey is such a big boy! He's starting to look more like a big boy and less like an infant. His favorite 'toys' are the remote, the laptop, and the camera. He will actually mimic sounds/voices that we do, hand gestures he sees us make, etc. He's so smart and soaking up more than I realized.
After weeks of scooting/rocking on all fours/bear crawling/ he's finally actually consistently crawling with some coordination. As he's getting better, he's becoming less frustrated. I guess I thought crawling would be like riding a bike. Once he did it once he'd continue. But no, he began to do it before our trip to Port Aransas in July but never really mastered it or consistently did it. Anyway, we got the video camera out tonight to record it several times and both batteries were dead. So, soon we'll have some video. Hopefully he'll wave "bye-bye" for the camera, too. That is my favorite and way cuter than crawling :)
Let's hope his crawling doesn't take off too fast, I know he'll be getting into everything! I'm going to have to be on my toes!!
We're so excited to be in town this weekend, we've been so busy for the past three months that a weekend home is a huge treat!
Have a great weekend everyone!!

7 Months!!!

those eyes, that skin, that mouth...love it!!! :)

about a week ago...trying so hard to get that fat body crawling! haha!! (notice the two teeth!!)

he looks HUGE in this pic :( Like as big as a 5 year old!

Has there ever been a more perfect creature?

Our Jakey turned 7 months old today! I just can't believe it. Can someone please stop this?!?
Some things Mommy wants to remember at this sweet time:
-You continue to be the happiest, easiest baby boy. The beach, Sea World, it doesn't matter-you find a way to adapt and make having a baby very easy. In fact, I told your Daddy the other day that we might have to have like...um...six kids because I'll always want a baby in the house. You make it so fun and easy!
-You still love your swing, the carseat, your stroller, and cuddling with Mommy and Daddy most of the time.
-You've been waving "bye bye" (Aunt Haley and Kinsey were first then Aunt Court)
-You're the happiest sitting on the floor with toys all around you or being held
-If I leave you on the floor too long and walk past you, you hold your arms straight up for me to hold you
-you babble all day and have said "dadada" on occasion
-You're trying very hard some days to crawl. Only a few of us have seen you successfully do so, and it has yet to be consistent. Some days you act like you have no interest in doing it at all.
-You fight falling asleep like no one I've ever seen. If you even think someone might be trying to get you to sleep in church you throw yourself forward to wake yourself up. Frustrating but funny! I'm glad you don't usually do this at home!
-You are so messy when you eat! It ends up all over your face, in your neck wrinkles, and all over your bib and hands. Maybe it has something to do with that tongue of yours!
-You continue to be an awesome sleeper! This week I slept in until 11am one day. I am one lucky Mama! Plus you normally take 3 good naps during the day.
-You've yet to taste a food you don't like. You have now tried a sippy cup and gerber puffs. You had no clue what to do with either one of them. We'll try again sometime. For now, I'm ok with you still being a baby!
-You got both of your teeth within a couple days of eachother, and they're now both showing and are so stinkin' cute!
-You are more beautiful than I could've imagined. Some people think you look like me, some people think you look like your Daddy. I am thinking that you must have gotten the best of both of us in order to be as cute as you are!
-You are still sooo big. You are now in all 12 mos clothes, size 4 diaper and shoe. I think you are starting to slow down, thank goodness!
-You're still quite the talker. You squeal loudly in church, at home, in the grocery store...everywhere! I love it...you are so happy and energetic.
-You get into everything. You move so fast from one side of the room to the other, get your legs caught under some of the furniture, love the remote, love the camera, pull my hair, and pull things down from a shelf on your changing table while I'm changing your diaper. Little stinker!
-You love being held and are comfortable in almost anyone's arms. You are so friendly still. You've only once or twice gotten stranger anxiety.
-You've NEVER been called a girl. I have heard all about how I was called a boy, and had friends babies called the opposite sex. Even though your Mama loves cute, preppy baby clothes it's never happened. I guess I just expected it would.
-You are so content and never cry. If you're crying it's normally because you're tired. But, since you've been a couple months old you've not cried for any other reason that I can remember. Well, actually when you got your shots you did. :(
-You've started giving 'hugs'. Granny and Papa thought it was so funny when you did it in Port Aransas last week. For a few weeks now you'll grab my shirt with both hands when you're on my lap. Then you'll smile and then bury your head in me and just sit there for a second. It's the best feeling and soo sweet.
Jakey,
I love you more than life itself. You are the perfect baby for me and I can't even begin to describe the joy you've brought us. I love your huge, open-mouthed smile and your sweet giggles. I love how you rub your eyes when you're sleepy. I love how you look up at us as we're rocking you and feel our face with your hand. And my favorite is when you lay your head on my shoulder and fall fast asleep while we're rocking. Your squeals and babbling bring a smile to my face. I can't believe how fast our time together goes. I'm so very blessed to be your Mama.
I am so thankful for these wonderful 7 months, and am so excited to see what our future holds.
