Jake's First Bluebonnets!!!

Today Jake and I went to Creekside Park in The Woodlands to take bluebonnet pics. Rachel and Taylor, Jess, Kinley, and Jaxon, Kayla and Rachel, and Krista and Kate also met us there! I think some of the pics turned out cute.
After the bluebonnet pics we walked to the nearby pavilion for a picnic lunch! The weather was cool and the kids were all happy, despite it being naptime! Jake was so content laying on his back watching everyone that he didn't even need a bottle or his paci the whole time we were there!

My Favorite!

He can't sit up straight for very long. Hehe. And it was so windy, I think the wind was blowing him over!

Jakey's signature tongue out. :)

Jaxon's had enough. :(

Haha! Exact same face! The wind was blowing hard and it was bright outside. :)

Kate going for the bag... :)

Kayla and sweet Rachel. She's a little over a month older than Jake.

Krista with Kate and Jake

Kinley "helping" Taylor. :-)

Have I said yet how much I love our camera? I am so glad I got it before Jake got here! I think that these turned out great...despite my inexperience as a photographer. :) I love how the background is blurry in some of them and how bright the colors turned out. I can't wait to see them printed out. I only wish Jake could've kept his eyes more open. :) We hope to venture more into the country where the bluebonnets are more concentrated and take some family pics next weekend. This was a great trial run for that!
Have a great week everyone! Our's has started out great! :)

A Little Update

Soooo long! :-)

Most recently our sweet Jakey has found his hands. He's stuffing them in his mouth and also staring at them all the time...while swinging them around. He sometimes follows them with his eyes...from having them straight up in the air (top pic), crossing his eyes and then lowering them-hitting himself in the forehead. It's pretty entertaining. Now, not only is he literally smiling half of the day, but laughing out loud!! It's so sweet and we are just having way too much fun with him!
In not-so-new news he is still enjoying the "just chillin" position with his hands behind his head. I'm not sure if you remember but he did this in every ultrasound we had! We knew he'd be a pretty laid back little dude! Doesn't he just look so relaxed? He's such a little man. Oh...speaking of little man, and now that he's out of the womb he likes to be entertained before he falls asleep. I'll have to post pics of our little tv lover soon. He'd watch it all day if I'd let him!
He's such a blessing to our family. Hope everyone's having a wonderful week!

Jake's First Trip

The back of our car! Jeremy and I packed together in the purple bag (on the right), you know the ususal clothes, pajamas, toiletries, etc. Everything else was Jake's. Stroller, pack-n-play, play mat, and tons of burp rags, diapers, wipes, bottled water, formula, bottles, changes of clothes, etc. :) My mom and Jeremy joked that now we dont' have the space for me to pack heavy anymore like I used to!

Jake borrowing Gran's sunglasses - it was too bright!

Almost (Lissa took our pic) all of us in front of the gym complex @ Baylor

list of players in the tourney (name, school, height, year, etc)

Matt going up to block (gold shirt and shoes on the left)

Matt getting the rebound

Baby Jake getting way into the game...oh wait, that's his bottle. He's not a very good spectator yet. ;-)

We wore him out!! This was him the entire way home.

This weekend we went to Waco, it was Jake's first overnight trip. We left Friday afternoon and got home Saturday evening. We went for 'Junior Nationals', it's an invitation only tournament for high school players. Letters are sent to their coaches and college scouts are also supposed to be there. It was held in the Baylor gyms. We had a fun trip! Gran, Lissa, Gammie, Papaw, and of course Uncle Matt were all there. Jake loves getting loved on by family and he was awesome the whole trip!

Today after Matt's third game we went to the 'famous' George's Bar. I love the Pat Green song and had heard about it but had never been there. It was soooo good! Any time we pass through Waco (which isn't very often) for anything again atleast we'll have somewhere good to stop and eat! :)

Too Sweet Not to Post

Do any of you remember "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West"?
Well I loved that movie when I was little! And Jeremy thinks that Jake looks like Fievel in the below pic. What do y'all think? :-) Do you see the resemblance?

Can you believe he doesn't have his tongue out? I love his little mouth!!

For Gran

For what was supposed to be Jake's First Christmas (especially when I was pretty much fully effaced and a little bit dilated at 36wks), Gran got him the cutest Moose
(foreshadowing...'moose') overalls, shirt, and matching socks from our favorite store, Janie and Jack! They are, to this day, one of my very favorite outfits he has worn. He was wearing some little brown shoes with it, but we had been home a while when we decided to snap some pictures. He's already worn this outfit to church twice. I'll be sad when he outgrows it, or it gets too hot for him to wear them, whichever comes first. But, I'll be sure to save them in case we have another boy, and probably will save them even if we don't! :)

Doesn't he look so handsome? That's what we were telling him when he was smiling at us. Such a sweet, charming boy he is! Thanks again, Gran! We miss you!

2 Months!

MAJOR temper tantrum Sunday after church, haha!

little boy after his shots- exhausted! Notice the bandaids :(

Happy Boy!

I was just messing around snapping pictures of us and couldn't see what I was actually capturing. It just so happened that I look at what I snapped on the screen and this is what I saw. He is such a joy and such a happy baby! Silly Boy! This will forever be one of my favorite pics.

Last week Jake turned 2 months old! He went to the Dr on Wed for his 2 month shots and checkup. He now weighs over 11lbs and is 23.5 inches long. He is 36th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height. The Dr laid him on the table on his tummy at the beginning of the appt and we then had a long conversation with the doctor about feeding and the issues we've been having. By the end of the conversation the doctor was very impressed, saying that babies his age are normally screaming by that point. Jake was very content raising his head and neck and looking around. I told him that Jake was already eating 6oz at feedings when he got a bottle. The doctor said, "that's A LOT." He said he'll probably just be a long and lean guy because he's burning so many calories with how active he is and that he's thriving. So, all went well! It was the first time we'd been back since all of the dreaded weight checks and this time it was actaully a pleasant experience!

Jake is very entertaining at two months old!
