Summer is on it's way...

This was a shopping weekend (sorry Jeremy!). I think because spring is here and summer is just around the corner and we have a trip to Hawaii planned I am wanting new things. Such as:

A treadmill!! Jeremy picked this up this weekend while I was shopping with Jessica. I am going to make it a point to walk 20 minutes before my morning showers (most days). Hopefully this will help me look decent/tolerable in the next item below. ;)

Swimsuits! I love brown and turquise together! I also ordered a cute white coverup.

Sandals! I've been wanting navy sandals for a long long time. I finally found a quality pair on sale that was the perfect height. I love them and can't wait to wear them around and in Hawaii with my sundresses.

ps- And, no, this isn't all I bought just in case you're wondering. I am capable of much more damage than that, unfortunately!

7. No One- Alicia Keys
8. Jessica Simpson- A public Affair (again, not so proud!)

Nikki, me, Jenn O, Rachel, Steph, Jessie, Andrea, Jess

Last night we saw our friend Andrea off to Georgia by going to Grotto for a nice dinner. Her husband is in the military and is already there. She was a great bunko buddy of mine... as we were the two 'losers' almost every month. She will be missed, and we wish her all the best!

We will miss you, Andrea!!!

Our Easter Weekend '08

Me, Matt, Court

Jeremy, Me, Matt, Court

Macy stayed at this tree all day and didn't budge...poor squirrel!

Me and Court (and for those of you wondering where Haley is, she was at a beach house with her friends for Spring Break) We missed her and aren't used to her being gone on Easter!

This weekend was a great time with family and friends. On Friday I went shopping with my mom, sister Courtney, and brother Matt. On Saturday Rachel came over to help me install my Uppercase Living items I'd bought at her party a couple of weeks ago. Then Saturday night we celebrated Easter with Jeremy's side of the family and then Shad and Kaleb came over to play Rock Band. Sunday we went to church and then went over to my parents for a delicious Easter lunch. Then we watched the Spurs beat the Mavs. It was an interesting game with Dirk getting hurt and Ginobli and Stackhouse getting physical. Stackhouse is a bit psycho if you ask me!

We hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter weekend, too!

Jeremy and Kaleb on his Nintendo DS (at Jeremy's parents house)
Kaleb with our girls
Kaleb and Shad on the drums
Enter with a happy heart (Uppercase Living expression now in our entry way) The colors I got it in are Chocolate brown and sage green.
Forever & Ever now in our bedroom :) Love it! The pictures don't do it justice but I know several of you have asked me about this stuff and/or weren't able to make the party. I have several projects I'm working on instead of putting all the expressions directly on the wall so I'll try to update once I get some of those completed.

"He is risen; he is not here." - Mark 16:6

That time of year is here again! It is Easter and it is Spring. I love this time of year. The flowers are blooming, the air is fresh, there are baby animals entering the world, and the color all around is bright and refreshing. His magical and wondrous handprints are all over. One of my very favorite flowers, the tulip, is in season. And many people in this world are focusing on Jesus. For me, that part is bittersweet. I love that people are thinking of Him and take time out to attend church and worship, and anytime they choose to do it, I will take it. I just know that in the Bible we are instrtucted to do it all year, every week, every day. Not just on Easter and Christmas. And I know that it is much more of a fulfilling and personal relationship on both sides when it is a daily part of your life, rather than an occasional holiday ritual. My relationship with Him gives me hope and peace in many situations, in and beyond this lifetime and this earth. And I am so thankful to live in this country where we have the option and even time off to celebrate that He is alive and active in our lives today.

For me, Easter is just a special reminder of everything dear to me. Not only is it a Holiday centered around Christ and what He did for us, but also of family and togetherness. Kind of like Christmas minus the stress and plus the warm sunshine. I remember when I was young and we would go see my great grandparents in Sherman. We attended church with family (as every Sunday) played outside, ate a nice homemade meal with all of our aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, etc, hid easter eggs, and much more. It was always just a pleasant and fun day. Easter is the Holiday that most reminds me of my great grandparents, and they are so very missed.

On a much lighter note, and because I love seasonal decorating SO MUCH, here are my favorite things, Easter edition:

tulips!

spring dishes/platters! (from my Aunt Lissa)

Spring Gardens/Garden Flags

All things Bunny! (found this at the Portland Airport!)

Deviled Eggs (and cute things to put them in!)

And one of my fav stores, Illuminations, comes out with the CUTEST candles!

And this brings me to my final point. I get many Easter/Spring decorations because my birthday usually falls around Easter, and my family and friends know how much I love a little seasonal cheer. Let the birthday shopping begin! Haha!!! ;-)

Weekend in Pictures (#2)

Haley's team played Oak Ridge HS and won 4-2 this weekend. It was a great game and the weather was PUUURRRRFFFECT! Last week it was 40 degrees and freezing, this weekend was warm and breezy. No chills and no sweating...can't get any better than that!! She didn't want to take this pic since it was AFTER her game and she was sweaty...but I'm glad we did. :)
Thursday we celebrated Nikki, Tara, and Andrea's birthdays at my new fav place, the Goose's Acre. It just happened to be the sexiest kilt contest, haha. I actually ran into one of my old good hs friends there and he was in it...along with tons of other guys. Interesting is all I will say about that. :)

Jenn and Nikki (aka the twins in the black shirts)

Me and Steph

Rachel and Lynette

Jessie, Andrea, Laurie, Jess, me

Sunday I had an Uppercase Living Open House (thanks to demonstrator Rachel!). I had a great turnout (seeing that she just had one a couple of weeks ago and we share lots of the same friends!) and everyone really liked it. I'm so looking forward to getting all of our stuff in and creating all of the things I want to. I ordered some 4th of July stuff, Spring, Summer, Christmas and some general sayings to put on signs, photo frames and albums, and the wall. So fun!

This week will be short with Good Friday off, and I'm so thankful! Hope everyone else had a good weekend also!

Aggie Ring #2

(Not to make you feel old, Mr. Worley, Class of '02, but this is the only ring year I found on the Association of Former Students website. ;-)

Today Jeremy and I went to James Avery to get his ring sized. He did this because he is getting ready to place an order for his second Aggie ring. He is very excited, and the second we walked in the door he started filling out his ring order with all of the information.
Why is he ordering another ring just a few years after graduating? Well, for those of you who haven’t heard this story, let’s back up a bit and let me tell you why he’s in need of ANOTHER ring. A year or two ago we were out at my parent’s house in Magnolia. I needed something from the car, so I asked (well, maybe I ordered…) Jeremy to go get it for me. As he approaches the car, he sees a squirrel and decides to throw a rock at it…I guess because he was just a little annoyed with me. A few minutes later he proceeds back into the house where he holds up his hand waving it in front of my face. I had no clue what he was trying to tell me or what he was missing. In Aggieland we call that being a 2%er. Most would’ve noticed, I guess. Then he decides to open his mouth and communicate with us (my mom and I) that he had lost it. He then tells us that he threw a rock at a squirrel and that his ring had just flown off. We all then decide that it HAS to be out there SOMEWHERE and so my entire family is out in the brush and dirt looking for his ring. For a long time we look. My family looks on their own several more times. The ring was never found. We’re thinking that the little squirrel decided to take it as revenge! ;-)
Anyway, as I’m annoyed he just lost something of importance and high value I scold him and say, “THAT’S WHY WE DON’T THROW SQUIRRELS AT ROCKS!!!” In fine Amanda idiot fashion. And that was some much needed comic relief, at my expense as usual.

And on another note, while we were out, I decided to get my new toy. A very neat Dyson Animal. It’s purple, it has great suction, attachments for under furniture, upholstery, and a wand to reach high places. I’ve already seen it in action and seen results. We just had our carpets professionally cleaned yesterday and you should see everything this little purple vacuum was able to drag up…amazing. If my other vacuum had suctioned this much the bag would be full after about three uses. Wow! I already loved vacuuming and was a little obsessive, and I’m a little worried that this will make my vacuum obsession even more out of control.

Puppies are so funny!! (And some other sweet pics)

Since it's been way too long since a Kinley post.....
J/K! I really do have something to show y'all that is quite entertaining!!
On Tues night Ryan, Jess, and Kinley came over (and brought dinner!!!) I know, we have great friends! :) Kinley thought Cassie and Sadie were so funny...or funny looking!?! :)

She was just giggling and giggling at them. It was one of the sweetest noises I've ever heard.

Have a listen for yourself!! (and try to ignore my casual dress- anytime Kinley comes over I wear a tshirt b/c she loves to spit up on me!! Ewww.
(note- if you want to hear it clearly, pause our playlist music. Also, Jeremy and Ryan are playing Rock band in the background if you're wondering what that crazy noise is)

Miss Kinley has found her toes :)

The following pics were taken at the Coleman's a couple of weeks ago...
Me & Kinley's Momma (aka a bff of mine)

Me and my sweet Jeremy (like my triple chin there?)

Jess' sister Kayla took the 2 above pics...thanks Kayla!! :) She actually tagged me in them on facebook...and I don't even know if she checks in on our little blog, but if she does then I thought I'd give her a shout out. :)

Weekend in Pictures

For any of you who ever visit http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ you know that they have a feature on their webpage called "the week in pictures." Well, since I don't have too much to post I thought I'd post pics from this weekend and last weekend.

Haley's Klein Varsity Softball Tourney last weekend

Our weekend was pretty laid back for a change, with Friday night consisting of a quick trip to the mall to find a shower gift and then a night of relaxing at home. Saturday was my friend Leah's wedding shower and going to see Vantage Point and eating at the Goose's Acre with Jeremy. Sunday was, of course, church and then we went to TGIFridays with some friends. This afternoon we plan on relaxing and catching up on our 24 mega marathon. We are hooked on this show and are now on Season 4...we just started with Season 1 New Year's and have now gotten to Season 4!! We always make time for 24...even if we worked all day and had evening plans...you'd better believe we're going to watch an episode when we get home- we're hooked!
Leah's Wedding Shower on Saturday

We went to eat with 3 other couples on Sunday, and they all had babies under 6 months old.
While we LOVE babies and are getting excited for that stage of our lives soon, we also loved knowing that we could go home and watch 24 and nap and do whatever we wanted to do! :)
Ella and Jace - buddies already :)
Just look at those beautiful blue eyes!!
