1 Jakey + 1 Kinley = 2 Cute

We recently kept Kinley while her Mama, Daddy and Jax went car shopping. We had so much fun! Jake and her love each other and play like brother and sister...it's so sweet! Here's a taste of what she was up to while she was here:

Playing with Jake

Just like every man, he's attached to the remote!

Singin' together...

She brushed Mr. Jeremy's hair :)

Had bath time with "Jeeeaaakkkeeyyy"

Asked all night to watch Baby Einstein w/Jake... and finally they did!

And we made "cooooooooooooookkkies" - her favorite! (and keep this on the DL, but they're Ms Amanda's favorite, too!! :)

We love you, Kinley!!!

Picture Catch-up!!

This is what happens when I try to block the door out of the playroom. Man, do we need a baby gate!! He usually cries and then climbs over/flips over whatever is blocking him. :( What can I say? A mama has to get something done sometimes...

So stinkin' cute. I love when he sits like this!

There is nothin' sweeter on this earth!!

Yes, he opened the door and slid out the "drawer" that the dvd's are on and went crazy with them. He's testing my patience...it's hard to have a baby this age when you like everything clean and picked up!

I could stare at this lil fella all day long!! Wish I had those eyes!!

He loves his brush and sometimes tries to brush his own hair. Thanks to Mommy's repetitive brushing every night he's able to groom himself! ;) haha

PS---Can you tell I like him in his lil pajamas? :-)

10 Months (*sigh*)

Lil Aggie!

Lil Jakey, at 10 months you are:

-FINALLY eatin' like a champ! In a matter of days you've almost completely stopped gagging on things. The past few meals you've been stuffing your face and eating almost completely on your own. You've now fed yourself pieces of fruit, granola bar, chicken nuggets, crescent rolls, biscuit, pancakes, green beans, pasta, etc. Can you tell we like bread in this house?

-You move around with such ease. You've started climbing over and into things and are standing on your own for very long periods of time. You love your push walkers and push them around the room like it's nothin'. I love watching you stand on your own and you get so excited and proud the longer you stand there. :)

-You have not changed in the size department from last month...which is awesome! :) You really needed to slow down.

-You still like to wave bye-bye and do it without being told a word. Daddy walks into the room and your lil hand starts a flappin'. I love it.

-Speaking of Daddy, you can say it like an adult would say it. "Daadddyy!" You've also started saying "Hi" sometimes and you also still cry "mamama" from your crib but don't say it that often unless you're upset.

-You love giving High Fives and Mommy and Daddy love getting them!

-You clap a lot and usually also like to do it when someone else or someone on tv does it. The cutest is when your Sing Along Stage toy sings "If you're happy and you know it" and you start clapping. You're so smart! :)

-You're still not big on sippy cups. You will, however, drink from a regular cup or water bottle. You want to hold it and that's your preferred way of getting liquids. You're just a tad messy, though. Haha!

-You continue to be pretty laid back and let just about anyone hold you, which I love. Sometimes, when I walk up and someone else has been holding you, you reach for me (which I also love!!) :)

-You continue to fight your sleep at church and occasionally in other public places. It drives me insane. You're a baby...if you're tired...go to sleep!!! :-/

-You're still a great sleeper and a really easy baby. You're still pretty good at obeying when told "no".

That just about sums you up on paper. There are, however, no words to express the love and pride that I feel for you. I will forever cherish this time with you. I feel blessed that you are my son and am so thankful that you are mine, and that we spend our days together. Your first birthday is getting closer and the planning has begun. I just hope I'm not the crazy basketcase crying in the corner as you're stuffing your face with cake. I guess the good part is that you will actually be eating the cake all on your own and that I won't be packing baby food in your school lunches.
I love you, BABY boy.

Moose's First Halloween

We definitely had an unconventional Halloween this year. I got up around 5am and got dressed and drove to Magnolia to my parent's house. My mom and I then rode to Huntsville to Haley's apartment where we met my aunt Lissa. The four of us then left around 8am for Canton for some shopping. We each had a couple of things to get and so we shopped for only around 3-4 hours and then headed back to my uncle Jon's house in College Station. We arrived around 6pm and had a delicious Pork Loin for dinner with twice baked potatoes, steamed veggies, rolls, and cornbread stuffing. Yum! Then we had birthday cake for Lissa's birthday. Shortly after, we headed home. I think we got home after or around 10pm and I was exhausted!
Jakey had planned to go trick or treating with my cousins, but things didn't end up working out that way. Next year we will have a more relaxed Halloween with some Trunk or Treating! Can't wait!
Isn't our lil Moose the cutest??? :)
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I have loved checking out everyone's pictures and we really missed all of our friends.

Dewberry Farm 2009

A Saturday morning a few weeks ago we slept in and then headed out to Dewberry Farm. I think that our lil family will make this an annual tradition. We had a blast! There was soooo much to do, and Jake will be able to have even more fun next year. We saw lots of barnyard animals, did the Corn Maize, picked some pumpkins fromt the patch, went thru the General Store and Sweet Shop, and just had fun! They had TONS for kids of all ages to do. What a neat place! Can't WAIT to go back next year!

What else would you wear to a farm? Love his lil "cowboy boots"!

Daddy and Jakey in front of the Sweet Shop

Awwww

Gotta get the sweet cheeks pic!!

Corn Maize!! (Jakey HATES the sun in his face!)

Beautiful Fall Flowers!

It couldn't have been a prettier Fall day!!

9 Month Well Check

Sweet boy after his shots today!

Today Jakey had his well check with Dr Edraliln. Definitely just a tad late (3 weeks). However, he's not throwing off the stat chart because he's actually lost a half a pound since he was 8 months. He's getting longer and leaner everyday. He is so active and just amazes me at the speeds he roams this house. The doctor was very impressed with his language and motor skills.
The memories of this appointment that I will have are:
#1 The doctor asking me if he's babbling still or saying words. I told him that Jakey says Daddy clear as day sometimes. Jake then says, "Dadddyy". The doctor laughed and said, "so he's obviously speaking great!"
#2 The doctor asks if Jake is into everything. I said yes, and it sometimes drives me crazy! Jakey then pulls up on me (using only my NECKLACE...what's the point? haha) comes to a stand, lets go and stands there for a second and then comes back down and crawls toward the Dr who is also standing/sitting against the table/bed that Jakey is on. Jakey stands up in front of Dr Edralin and pulls on his shirt buttons for a while and then reaches up to touch the facial hair on his chin and stick his hand in Dr Edralin's mouth.
I think Jake did a great job of answering all of Dr Edralin's questions today!!
The doctor and nurse both said he has the power to walk (strength and coordination) but he just doesn't know it yet. Here's to hoping Jakey doesn't realize that walking is an option for a little while longer.

9 month stats:
weight: 23.4 lbs - 80th percentile

height: 29 3/4 inches - 83rd percentile

head circumfrence: 76th percentile

Jakey also was able to get the Swine Flu/H191 vaccination today (along with the polio vaccine).

Apparently he's doing everything he should be and more for this stage. We are soooo proud of our perfect baby boy!!

Our Lil Linebacker

Lately Jakey has loved pushing this lil football around the house. He chases it from room to room and it has been great at keeping him occupied. Too cute!! Maybe he really will end up being a football player, like everyone says. I think he already has the perfect build and nickname to match! We love our lil Moose!
