Post by Dad...He's here!!

Here is one picture of what I'm sure will be many to come of our little boy. He is doing so well, and has been so good natured so far. He got his first check-up from the on-call pediatrician this morning and she thinks he is battling a headache and is having to get antibiotics for a fever that he and Amanda both had during the delivery. We thank everyone for the love and support that we have been outpoured with. We are so blessed to have the thoughtful and caring friends and family that we have! We love you all and will have many more pictures soon.

JAKE TUCKER WORLEY!

Baby Jake arrived January 3, 2009 at 10:57 pm. He weighs 9 lbs 7 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. Mom, Dad, and Baby are all doing well! I'm sure A and J will be posting pictures soon! Right now Jake has a room full of visitors - Jeremy, Amanda, Hal, Debbie, Lissa, Gran, Velta, Shad, Star, Matt, Haley, Courtney, Rachel, Ryan, Jess, and Kinley. This baby boy is already loved sooooo much by so many - we know that by all the calls, comments, and text messages A and J received today! - jess

Pushing!

It is 9:10 and the epidural must have helped, she dialated and now is just starting to push. The doc isn't positive Amanda is in the clear for no c-section, but atleast she is getting to try to push - that is exciting for everyone! - jess

Epidural...

It is now 7:20 and the doctor had said if Amanda hadn't progressed by now then she would have to have a c-section or an epidural. Amanda is now getting an epidural as we all wait in the hallway. She is truly wishing that this will help her dialate as a last resort before the doc has to perform a c-section. - jess

No progress...

After the doctor checked her a couple of hours ago and announce a 9, now he is not sure she is that far along. How the baby is sitting and how she was when she was checked earlier, has made him realize now that she really hasn't progressed much more than a solid 7. Amanda is very discouraged because she continues to have hard contractions. They want to put her back on Pitocin now and have agreed to give a her a half dose of the "pain" medicine to help her relax. She still would rather have him naturally if at all possible, but even the doc is talking epidural possibly at this point.

The doctor has a small concern that Amanda's pelvis is too small to let Jake push her to dialate to a full 10 because of such little progress and the "fake" progress from earlier. Amanda truly wants to avoid a c-section if at all possible. The doctor told her he would really like to see progress in the next hour. Please pray that Jake is able to drop lower in the next hour and cause Amanda to dialate further!

Drawing a Crowd...

Throughout the day more people have come to wait on Jake! All who are at the hostpital right now: Jeremy, Mom, Dad, Velta, Haley, Courtney, Matt, Starr, Aunt Lissa, Gran, and Jess. Quite a crowd waiting on one baby boy!

9 cm!!!!!!!

Amanda is at a 9 - Yippie!!! She is doing great! The nurse is in the room right now "preparing" - she just said "WE ARE GETTING CLOSE!" as she walked out of the room!

Just a note... when the doctor told Amanda she was dialated to a 9 Amanda said, "I'm Happy!" The nurse came over and told us, "I've never seen a person dialated to 9 say they were happy!" The nurse continues to just be amazed at how well Amanda is handling/managing all the pain! - jess
