Our church had our annual Family Camp this weekend and it was a blast! I love getting away from the tv, traffic, the computer, housework, etc and just being among our church family. We are so blessed with fun, godly people to raise Jake around and we had a great time. We spent time studying the Bible, singing praises to God, praying, fellowshipping, eating, playing kickball, canasta, etc. We truly cannot wait for next year!

One of my favorite places on earth is Port Aransas. It's certainly not the most beautiful places, but it sure beats Galveston... by ... a lot. Considering that I don't even like to get in the water in Galveston. :)
We love this place for so many reasons! I have gone there almost every summer since I can remember. It holds so many fun memories with extended family. We love that it is far enough to be a "get away" but still isn't a bad drive. I love that it's a laid back place without too many people. Basically....the perfect Texas beach!
This year we had an AWESOME beach house. It was new, huge, beautiful and perfectly decorated! We were right on a little lake, had a view of the neighborhood infiniti beach entry pool and also of the ocean. We lots of canasta, dominos, pit, spit, spoons, pictionary, last word, a nightly game of kickball, grilled out, ate good seafood with an ocean view, drank coffee on the back porch, walked the jetty, rode the waves, saw tons and tons of stingrays right next to us, saw crabs, swam in the pool, slept in, relaxed, and just had some good ole family time!!
Jake loved the sand, and also rode in our "boat" raft out a little ways with us. He loved that too, until the salt water got all in his eyes. :( We are so blessed with a happy little fella...he's soo content- even after 5 hours in the car (traffic and drive thrus :) we didn't have one cry, fit, or meltdown- in fact nothing more than a peep. :)
We are going back in a month or so with the other side of the family--can't wait. I just cannot get enough of Port A...Yay!!

Downtown Children's Museum!

We recently met my good friend and college roomie Tamara at the Children's Museum dowtown. It was our first trip there and I was very impressed. Soooo much to do and see and you don't have to tell them no- they can touch everything! (Except, of course, if your child keeps running off like mine did!!) The Tot Zone was fabulous for Jake's age and stage - he loved all of the hills, bridges, steps, slides and mirrors- and it was nice that it was indoors and super clean (constantly moving out toy bins to replace with new, clean toys and no shoes- just socks or surgical covers over your feet).
Anyway...it was one of the neatest places I've ever seen for kids and we cannot wait to go back.
Aren't Noah and Jakey sooo cute exploring? Noah's baby brother Tate will be here soon and then he'll have two buddies to play with when we get together!

Oh-Soooo-Handsome

blue eyes, long eyelashes and sweet lips. I love this face!
I only get this shot accidentally when he's in my face reaching for the camera- but I love it!

Our friends the Robertson's sent Jake the cutest summer outfit. I just think it is so cute and unique and he looks soo adorable in it. I just think he's soooo handsome!! :)

More Pool Fun!

Stealin' a kiss!

Can I just maybe get a kiss??

Silly boy- Silly face! Doesn't even look like him

Jessie and her new younger man Luke :) He fell in love that day!

Jessie with Jake and Nikki with Lily. I love that Jakey and Lily are looking at eachother.

We really have been taking advantage of our summer pool passes for the Woodlands pools. We have loved every second of it! We meet friends there and have playdates. I love getting sun, excercise, playing with my sweet boy and seeing lots of friends all at the same time. It is fabulous and I don't know if we'd be enjoying summer near as much without it!
That being said, some of our friends have a really great pool in their neighborhood that we've gotten to visit a couple of times as their guest. What can I say, we just love going to the pool and hanging out with friends! My friend Nikki has a little boy that is 3 and a little girl that is 2 days younger than Jake. It is always so cute whenever her and Jake get together and I just loved that he was trying to give her a kiss (of course, in his signature butt sticking out position). Thanks for inviting us to hang out--we had fun!
We're having a great, wonderful summer so far!! =) Hope that all of you are, too!
