Just a few of our pics!

I LOVE THEM! Thanks to Allison of http://www.freckledeggphotography.com we have these great memories of our family at this stage. They turned out really good and we will always cherish them. I will upload more soon- we have around 30 total pics. What a great way to remember our 7th wedding anniversary and Jakey at 18 months!

Fun-Filled Friend Time!!

Over the past week we've been lucky enough to spend some time with old friends. We drove to College Station and visited my college friend Irma and her kids Olivia and Gabe. We also went over to my old work friend Leah's for a Saturday playdate. Then, today my friend Danette brought her two boys over to play with Jake (and have the always welcome grown-up conversation). =)
We really, really enjoy our time with our friends and are so thankful to have each of them in our lives!

they were mailing eachother letters!

Jake found someone who loves cars as much as he does!

until we meet again!

Ha! Can you tell by looking at Jakey that it was past nap time? This boy loves his sleep!

He wanted to hold her and hug her! I'm not sure who Jake hugs more....Emily or Sara!

Love this pic of him trying to hug/grab/hold her!

We said good-bye to Andrea today for the second time. She's moving to Georgia again! We are so glad that they had some time here, close to their families and friends. Her husband, Gonzalo, is in the army and has been deployed a couple of times, one deployment being during Andrea's entire pregnancy. They now have this sweet baby girl and get to move to Georgia together to live as a family. We are so thankful for Gonzalo's safety and their service to our country and hope to have them close again sometime in the future. Andrea will be missed at our girl's nights, birthday dinners and bunko!

Happy 21st, Haley!

Probably one of our worst family pics ever :-/

A great pic, except for the about-to-be-escapee

#3 and #4 - although it might sounds "potty-mouth"
to put #1 and #2 under a pic of me and Court ;)

My Dad was acting a little looney jumping around with the camera and this is our reaction

This past Tuesday we had the 2nd Annual celebration of Haley's birthday at Pecos Grill in Tomball. Ok, it's not really an annual thing it just so happened that it's been there two years in a row. What can I say, my family loves a place that brings a basket of bread (or several baskets of bread if we're going to be honest), makes SPICY chicken fried steaks, and yummy fried okra. Sooooo delicious!
I cannot believe my littlest sister is 21! We had a great, fun family dinner and I'm glad she got to come home to celebrate! Love you, Haley!

The 4th!!

Me and Court

Our little family

The Woodlands fireworks show was amazing!

Sweet Jake taking in the sights. He was not sweet the whole time, as it was well past his bedtime but well worth going for. Jakey was laying on Mommy who was laying on Daddy who took this pic. Got that?!? :)

Playing Buzz Word

Our sweet boy- can you tell it was around 3pm and he hadn't had a nap?

We had a fantastic fourth this year. It was a perfect mix of family, friends, work and play. We painted our bathroom, watched a movie, hung out with friends, played games with both of our families at Court and Shad's house, and attended the 1st birthday party of sweet Clint. We also went to the Woodlands Waterway for the fireworks show. It was probably the best one I've ever seen with a crazy Grand Finale.
We love our country and our freedom! Hope your 4th weekend was perfect!

My baby is 18 months!

Can you tell it was naptime? In a daze...

Soooo silly!

always curious and mechanical- definitely like Daddy!

lookin' long and lean lately.

Jakers is at SUCH a FUN stage! He is so entertaining, funny, silly, sweet, and opinionated (not always a good thing) but he is definitely becoming his own little person. I love his expressions, his mean face, his sweet kisses and hugs he gives to us and his friends. I love how he lights up when Daddy gets home and how he tries to grab the phone every time I am on it saying, "DA!DA!...DAAA!" I love how he runs so fast around the house and how he holds my hand when we cross the street.

Here's what he's been up to lately: (Not all interesting but something I want record of)

-He loves to open doors and has shut himself in Jeremy's closet in the dark and not been able to get out.

-He loves to climb on the furniture and then walk on it. He still stands on his little rocking chair and even dances on it once he's up. We went to Clint's 1st Birthday party at the park today and Jake found an ice chest to stand on. He's like a little mountain goat.

-He loves a thrill. Jumping off of things, running into things and jumping into the pool with no fear. I love having a baby that likes to be tossed around. :) So does Papaw!

-He loves to throw the ball, push toys, go up steps (stairs, slopes, hills) and crawl into the bathtub before he's totally undressed. He loves opening and closing doors. If there's an open door in our house ...it will get closed. He's a boy after my own heart- shutting all of the cabinet doors that Daddy leaves open and also the unsightly laundry and pantry doors stay shut, too. :)

-He's wearing anywhere from 18month to 3T clothes and mostly 2T and 3T pajamas. His shoes are mostly size 7 and he's still in size 5 diapers. He's still also only 28 lbs. He's hardly changed in months! All the easier to carry, for sure!

-He still loves being a ham, especially with "mean face" but he's also been pretty shy lately with strangers or even big groups.

-He's a sweetheart, always up for kissing or hugging his friends and family. I LOVE it!!

-He can eat most meals completely with your fork. The other night we had meatloaf and mashed potatoes and you did horrible. Later that night I thought about it and both of those can't really be stabbed. Mac n cheese and nuggets are much easier, I guess.

-He continues to be a champion sleeper. He usually goes to bed around 8-8:30 and wakes up between 9-11am. We never hear a peep of him all night and he naps good as well. He's mostly down to one nap but sometimes needs two. If he gets two they are very flexible and I like that he'll take two if I need him to. Last night we went to the fireworks show (started after 9) and he napped from 6-8 for us! Otherwise he naps once a day from around 12-4. His longest nap this month was over 5 hours (well, as of 7/27 it was 6.5hrs!!). Yowza!! I'm not convinced our next kid will be this cooperative. I've never seen anything like it and am so grateful, as I've been tired myself!

-He is getting big opinions. He has defintely started throwing fits and growling and hitting himself when he's in trouble. He's very stubborn and wants to do things that are his idea and on his own time. Usually he refuses to say a word when I want him to (that he has said other times) or coming to me when I call him. Sooo frustrating!

-He is so helpful. Always willing to go find his own socks and shoes and bring them to Mommy. He will go find his drink or a certain toy if I ask him to. If I need him to stand up for me to bathe him in the bath tub I will just say "stand up" and no matter what he's playing with or doing he will immediately stand. He understands most anything we talk about or ask him to do. He will also pick all of his toys up after he plays with them. I can say "put 'em up" and he will start picking up.

-He still loves books and brings them to us several times a day. We can ask him what things are on the page and he will point to them. He knows things like turtle, dog, boat, duck, treees, truck, etc. He loves playing with his noisemaking toys and we often hear him mocking his farm see n say making his own animal noises. Sooo fun to watch!

-His vocabulary is coming along great. He doesn't say too many sentences/put several words together yet but he has lots of words and will put two of them together. (ie daahhggs otside)

Some cute words he says:
Ni-Ni (night, night) juice
tanks! (thanks) Mommy
tank tu (thank you) chiich nugs (chicken nuggets)
thoes (shoes) - Mommy's fave! nah (no)
sthox (sox) stop (sthop)
thirt (shirt) ess (yes)
Yaxx! (Jax- or Jaxon his bud!) ooster (rooster- sometimes he says the whole word)
Itza! (pizza) dagh (dog)
dink (drink) thow (cow)
Thow (cow)
tside (outside)
slide
babal (bible)
ook (book)
brush
dOOOne (phone)
duck
car
truck (sometimes tuck)
kill (grill)
all done (when he's finished eating)
chair (high chair)
love you (uuhhmm you)

I think those are some of the words he used most...atleast the ones we came up with off the top of our head.

Jakey you are growing up wayyy too fast but we are having more fun than we ever imagined. You are the perfect baby for us and we couldn't be more proud of you. What a memorable 18 months it has been!
xoxo, Mommy
