Amanda is at a 9 - Yippie!!! She is doing great! The nurse is in the room right now "preparing" - she just said "WE ARE GETTING CLOSE!" as she walked out of the room!
Just a note... when the doctor told Amanda she was dialated to a 9 Amanda said, "I'm Happy!" The nurse came over and told us, "I've never seen a person dialated to 9 say they were happy!" The nurse continues to just be amazed at how well Amanda is handling/managing all the pain! - jess
Jake continues to move lower and lower, but right now Amanda is still at a 7. They have given her a little Pitocin again to see if that will help her move along a little faster like before. They will not give her anymore medicine to help her relax because Jake is a 41 plus week baby it could slow his heart rate. The nurse seems to be pushing for an epidural, but Amanda told her she still didn't want one, but would try to relax other ways. They put a monitor on Jake's head to make sure they are getting a constant monitoring of his heart rate.
Keep praying for Amanda to get a little rest between contractions, it is getting really hard. - jess

The nurse just came in to talk to Amanda (1:35) and told her how well she was doing! The comment the nurse made... "Well, you are doing great, you are managing better than 99% of people!" She is being a trouper - everyone is proud of her!

The doctor came to check Amanda at 12:45 and she is now at a 7. Gran, Matt, Aunt Lissa and Haley have now joined the party (although I don't think that is what Amanda would call it right now). She is very quiet and managing the pain nicely, but we know she is hurting from the constant contrations. They have now lessened the dose of Pitocin, as she is contracting well on her own. She just was given her one dose of "pain" medicine to let her rest in between contractions (even the nurse commented she knows it doesn't really help with pain), but atleast maybe Amanda will get a little rest. She is also a little nauseous so they are also giving her a little medicine to help with that.
Jake should be here fairly soon if all continues to progress as well as it has been! We are all getting very excited! - jess

The nurse justed checked Amanda (11:20) and she is now dialated 4 cm. It is good to see progress this quickly. Jakes head is very low and Amanda is 100% effaced. Amanda is feeling hard contractions (I'm sure because of both the Pitocin and her own contractions) and is already in alot of pain. - Jess

Amanda and Jeremy came to the hospital at 7:00 this morning to start the induction process for Baby Jake's arrival!
By 8:00 Amanda started receiving Pitocin and was hooked up to all of her monitors.
Around 8:30 her doctor came to check her and she was already dialated to a 2 and he was able to break her water.
The nurse continues to up her Pitocin and she is having constant/hard contractions ever 1-3 minutes.
More updates to come! - Jess
